Bitcoin a different perspective
I think Blockchain will bring major changes and will reduce the role of government. This will enhance individual privacy and shift power from corporate houses to individuals. Bitcoin is not evil but user can be, same as any other legal tender can be used for evil objectives.
Bitcoin is very exciting development which can be world currency. Bitcoin is the beginning of something great which will change the world. Bitcoin gives us an opportunity to transfer a unique piece of digital asset to another with safety and security. The transfer is open so nobody can challenge the legitimacy of the transfer. With some improvisation, this can be fast, secure and more efficient payment system.
I see block-chain technology as next big thing and you will see different flavors of decentralized technologies. In future all smart devices will speak to each other better and faster.
One thing for sure, governments are not liking it, it augurs significant political, cultural and economic clashes. But Bitcoin is unstoppable.
Bitcoin is a good way of keeping everyone honest and removing whole layer of banking bureaucracy and lowering cost. This is purest form of democracy and currency of resistance.

This was the theory behind Bitcoin as its inventor Satoshi Nakamoto had intended. Unfortunately today it has been corrupted by the big banking industry and corporate greedsters. Satoshi is gone, the original members of the team are gone, and everyone has been replaced with with new banker types. They have kept the working block size small intentionally to keep the process slow and expensive. They are developing instead, a parallel chain to work in conjunction with the original chain but with tons of small fees attached along the process. So unfortunately we are being forced to look to other, less corrupted coins for our true independence and freedom from corporate/government interference.
Still I believe that no body can stop Bitcoin. It will be everywhere and the world will have to readjust. World governments will have to readjust

I too agree that Bitcoin is the Hold Standard, however it has been corrupted by the very people who it was developed to rebel against. In short, they all sold out, probably under duress. Be that as it may, Bitcoin will always remain and be utilized, but it will take its position as a Figurehead Monarch, whilst other Cryptos with better technologies do the utility work.
