I have been trading Altcoins for a year now and I have managed to double the number of bitcoin I started out with. Now BTC is up and people feel that they cannot afford to buy a whole BTC. Instead, many try to trade altcoins to maximise their bitcoin holdings.

Most people will lose doing this and others will make money. I have started this "small" portfolio of 0.2 BTC and intend to grow it initially to 1BTC. I will outline all my trades and what I am selling.

Choosing My Altcoins

Most of my positions are longer term positions on altcoins that have two important criteria: they have a low supply and they had a big pop in 2016.

What Did I Buy?

I bought positions of several coins: GNT, NAUT, LBC, SJCX, AMP, SRC, MAID, VRC and BCY.

What I Have Sold

Bought @ 0.012467 Sold @ 0.01877055 BTC Gain: 0.00630355 Percentage Gain: 50%

GNT

Bought @ 0.033066 Sold @ 0.05347922 BTC Gain: 0.02041322 Percentage Gain: 61%

I am quite happy with those gains. Of course I am also making some potential losses. However, since most of my coins have not been part of the altcoin pop I am happy to hold on to the positions over the summer.

I will do more updates as I buy and sell more coins.
