Free crypto currency?

Well, maybe. I have seen a number of posts here on steemit with alleged free Bitcoin and other cryptos. Most of them contain a referral link so the publisher can benefit from your time spent on these sites.

After investigating a few of them I would like to provide my experience to help others.

There will be no referral links as the reason for this post is education only.

One of the first sites I was introduced to on steemit was a site called start miner. This site claims you need to do nothing and you will get free Bitcoin. If you bring the referrals you get more. As you can see from my account below, it appears that they never payout. It seems like they are just trying to seduce you into upgrading so that you are the one giving away the bit coin. As you can see my withdrawals have been pending for more than a month.

Next there are a number of apps by Daniel Bainbridge. Specifically Bitcoin aliens, abundance, Bitcoin free, alien run, and blockchain game.
I have personally received payments from theses, however the process is slow and requires a lot of time playing. With that said, they do payout every week.

I also have been successful with both moon Bitcoin and FreeBitco. These are simple, require no money and do pay.

Lastly, I have also been able to collect regularly from a site called splititmining. See below for proof of payment.

So, in summary you can make a few dollars worth of Bitcoin doing very little. Just be prepared to shuffle through a few duds to get to the real deal.
