Bitcoin News by the end of the year
Hello Steemians,
Today I want to give you a short summary of the cryptocurrency space in the last few days. The Christmas holidays were pretty exciting for the space.
- John McAfee got hacked
The founder of McAfee Antivirus is a “big fish” in the crypto space for a time now. He owns Bitcoins and several Altcoins in his private portfolio. He as well mines Bitcoin with his investment firm MGT Capital with the help of water powered electricity. For some time he was doing the “coin of the day” on his twitter account were he would choose in his opinion undervalued coins and tokens, to promote. Only because of his recommendation the coins could pump over 2,500%. Some were he would take money for promoting the coins. Because of a security problem his twitter account was hacked and the “new owners” decided to pump different coins in just a few minutes. As of now it seems his twitter account is back in his possession and McAfee only promotes a coin once a week now.
- Ethereum Co-Founder Vitalik Buterin will drop out
The founder and programmer of Ethereum Buterin wants to drop out of Ethereum if the only news published will be about the price and not the underlying technology. In particular he is upset with the “lambo-memes” and the “to the moon” conversations on several social media platforms. He has faith in the community and believes it will turn into the right direction. If you are in the scene long enough try to encourage “noobs” to learn about the technology and not only the 10x gains.
- Japanese Banks want to prevent a new “Mt.GOX”
Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking is preparing to launch a service that will protect cryptocurrency holders if the exchanges they use shut down or are hacked. This should help newcomers to not get screwed when they want to buy their first cryptocurrency
