Here we have the best & most user-friendly South African Bitcoin exchange to help you get started. I use it & I recommend you do to.

  • Download the Luno App on the Apple Store, Google Play Store or the web App luno.com/invite/RH2TA

  • Sign up using your e-mail & best password combination.
Follow the e-mail Account Verification instructions.

Once you have signed up you will be able to Login into your account.

  • Once logged-in press the drop-down menu to the top-left of your screen & click on Wallets.

There you will find your Bitcoin as well as your Rand (ZAR) wallets — click on the Rand wallet to make a deposit.
Finally you will be given different payment methods compatible with all the banks in South Africa.
Follow the instructions.
Once you have chosen the amount (in Rands) you want to deposit & deposited it — it will reflect on your account in 2 business days.
Once the amount has reflected you click on the Buy option with the Bitcoin icon to buy your first Bitcoin.
NB: It doesn’t have to be a whole Bitcoin — you can start from as little as R30 worth of Bitcoin.
When you click on Promotions and type-in the code “RH2TA” (my affiliate’s code) — you will get R10 extra of Bitcoin on your every R500+ Bitcoin purchase.

Follow the web App link for ease-of-use luno.com/invite/RH2TA

Then voila! Congratulations on your first Bitcoin purchase 😃

Thank you for clarifying this! I saw on google you could buy for as little R30, but when I went on to Luno, I got a bit nervous as the amounts are so high, it's not obvious unless you go to your ZAR wallet and deposit.
