The Cryptocurrency Shakeup - Any advice for newbies?
So I recently watched this speech by Andreas Antonopoulos at Blockchain African Blockchain Conference (video below).
In it he briefly prophesies (after 3 minute mark) that a shakeup in the cryptocurrency sphere will occur. He later compared this shakeup to the dotcom bubble that shook out all the useless internet startups.
This cryptocurrency shakeup will be similar that will eliminate the dodgy coins, and let the supreme cryptocurrencies reign. It will educate investors and consumers about the privacy and security on the blockchain. Regardless governments and media will try to spin it as a bad thing, ironically overlooking 2008 GFC, too big to fail banks, '97 Asian financial crisis, and all the other fiat currency bubbles.
By no means am I saying Bitcoin or Ethereum are scams and should be avoided. They are disruptive technology and we are engaging one of the biggest financial experiment in the world, we are bound to confront problems.
I've been stung personally by cryptsy.com and exchange platform that was compromised. I didn't lose much (then), but regardless it taught me a lot and I was again on steep learning curve on what are true cryptocurrencies, honest exchanges, etc.
I would like to use the Steemit community to help bring newbies up to speed, so we can hit critical density sooner, and be living in a blockchain world, that is not fraudulent and does not require us to put faith in institutions that have let us down so many times.
This is a chance for newbies to be educated before the shakeup and have themselves prepared to pick out dodgy coins, ICO or platforms.
If there are any experience cryptocurrency users and/or enthusiast, would you please post any cryptocurrency projects, platforms or anything relative that should be avoided at all cost.
