Slow steem? The flippening? Anything to do with this?

If there is anyone who has been in the crypto sphere long enough, they will see a familiar pattern. When bitcoin dumps so does every other alt-coin. To date there is no other coin which will cause the “flippening”.

The flippening is a term describing the event where some other alt-coin takes the reigns where bitcoin once was. Think of it as the reserve currency where bitcoin has the status for “international” settlements.

Similarly there is a lot of news and speculation whether the US dollar will continue to be the reserve currency. Unfortunately that will create hot wars. Interesting times we all live in, but focusing on bitcoin I think it’s safe to say 2018 will be a bear market for some time.

This is good for any market including the crypto market and STEEM. If profits are lower, this tends to shake out “weak” hands. Speculators generally move to the sidelines and price discovery is easier to discover.

Anyone who doesn’t post on steem because of this can be considered a “weak” hand. You can join this platform without sinking a penny into it. So hopefully the good writers and bloggers out there will shine a little brighter while the market suffers.

People interacting on this platform while STEEM is down are the true Steemians! @ironshield

cheers my friend! You are a true steemian and I think you are one of the longest steemians I have interacted with while on my tenure here.
