Broke the $4400 mark for the first time ever just recently on the 14th later at ~9:40 pm EST .... and change for that now former - new ATH!!
In the last few hours it is still hanging around the $4960 mark right now. We had a massive run / recovery gain today in the 3 pm and then 6:45 pm EST range.
Yesterday around 9:30 pm EST -- it topped out at around $4777 USD for hours, before the 11:30 pm pullback happened last nite about 23 hrs ago.
The fact is -- we have gained literally nearly ~$800 USD in ~5 days here.
I am watching the chart candles and it may go even higher tonite, for more HUGE gains. We did have a dip in the last 24 hours. But we are used to it right??

I think in the next hour or 3..... with the markets already open 12 hours ahead of us in the Hong Kong and related markets, we are going to finally smash thru the $5k mark USD. Today/ Tonight. I am still the only person here posting regular Canadian $BTC updates. I try to keep people apprised. I know Canada doesn't attract a lot of votes or attention etc -- but it remains a global market and a canary in the mineshaft so to speak as to what's going on in the global currency markets.
The last times we were around a HUGE milestone high mark, as you see was about 2 months ago, when I made this post about BTC flirting with the $4k $CAD mark:

We have had another fun ride in the markets, we see these ups and downs and nutty things as the price is trying to find itself day to day, and that likely has a lot to do with all the NEW PEOPLE AND MONEY coming into the space and like people trying to find their way, so the price is doing the same.
I've said this before many times, -- dips / corrections are not crashes - remain calm but do your research.

The recent Bitcoin Cash / fork split on the now infamous Aug. 1st caused the Crypto Market Cap to finally get back over the $100B mark for the first time in WEEKS --- and we are hoping we are over the correction hump for some sustained green and growth.
We have had parabolic growth the last few weeks! - the Crypto Market Cap climbed QUICKLY - all the way back to the previous $116B market cap ATH --- and kept going. And kept going....
And then some!
Market Cap Gains TLDR:
The climb for the last 4 weeks means:
-- It blew past the $120B mark for the first time ever (August 7th, 2017 - around 9 pm EST)
-- It gained another +$25B to the Market Cap on top taking it to the $140-145B range by around Aug. 20th.
-- Btw. August 20th and now here the end of August - it has gained another ~$23B bringing us to the (latest/recent) ATH of $168B as of August 30th.
-- Sept. 1st -- It teetered on and off for several hours at the $179.8B mark, oh so close to $180B! (10:45 pm EST / my last check doing a blog post here)

5 Yrs. of Junes' Bitcoin History Charts TLDR:
I wrote this article using charts and 5 years of history to really nail the perspective issue here of gains and losses showing the last 5 Junes on record, in the Crypto market, it is a very good, short read with charts year over year.
It's almost ridiculous now watching this stuff shoot straight. to. the. moooon. Every day, all day!
Trend: Generally, the spread between the lows and the highs seems to be narrowing which means the highs stay high but the LOWS are also higher, so the resistance lines and larger price corrections are leaving, presumably stabilizing the currency and supporting the price and increases.

I'm just starting to wonder at what point are people going take some profit from selling and wait for the price to dip a bit before buying back.
Any thoughts or anything you have been hearing? People must be eyeing an short term exit point with how high price is going.
It's all over the map, a frenzy kind of -- so not ONE real kind of strategy stands out.
I know the long term hodl'ers in Crypto are not anxious to sell, but the long term traders are taking some profit at the top here and there like you say.
