TELOS ( TLOS ), an independent sister chain platform from the EOS code is going to have it’s own block producers with some changes of the EOS platform. It’s rumored to be launching soon to go online at the end of September or early October 2018.

Here are some of the key features Telos will be bringing to us Dapp developers & investors:

Telos will be using the Genesis snapshot to giveaway air-drops. So you will be given free coins to all EOS owners and the tokens will be distributed 1:1 with EOS tokens, capped at 40,000 per address. Telos will also be launching its main-net with approved wallets, a valid Constitution, referendum voting, worker proposal process, and an arbitration process and body in place.

Telos offers cutting-edge approaches to running a stable, cost-effective EOSIO network for DApp deployment and most innovations may eventually be adopted by the EOS main-net due to the DApps being compatible with those on EOS platform which it will give a wide range of developers more options on where to deploy their Dapps.

Block producers on Telos will have minimum requirements that include standby block producers must regularly prove their readiness by rotating into production 6 hours every 5 days. This helps ensure network resiliency. It also gives each of the top 21 block producers 12 hours off per week for scheduled maintenance. Any block producer that fails to produce blocks in 30 minutes or 180 blocks will be automatically replaced with a standby BP for 6 hours.

Telos RAM will remain affordable by keeping all developer focus on Dapps and not being forced to be open source. Also the RAM fund will ensure the first 1 million new addresses will be free to create in order to aid rapid user adoption. There will be powerful tools to help stabilize RAM against speculation.
