EOS, The Most Powerful Infrastructure for Decentralized Applications

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

EOS - The up and coming blockchain who many say "the Ethereum killer," is getting a lot of attention potentially taking over the market share of the smart contracts. Dan Larimer, who brought us both Bitshares and Steemit and now in full working mode on EOS will be the first blockchain ready to execute exchanging trades, interact with social networks, and payment processing all in one platform or whatever other framework that requires gigantic amounts of transactions. EOS is being primarily design to overcome any overscaling issues. As of today's average transactions per second is as follows:

Info on steemit: Daniel Larimer was born in Colorado and spent his formative years in Florida and Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2003.[1] He is a visionary software engineer and serial entrepreneur who is focused in the areas of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, decentralized exchanges, economic systems and freedom.

Hey Applelex, it sure will be interesting to see how EOS evolves from this point. I watched the video with Ivan earlier today and that, although it was not necessarily the easiest of interviews, it was certainly interesting. With less than 4 months until EOS is released I can't wait to see what / who ends up building on the platform. We now know about Everipedia and Dan stated that there will be another announcement, I think next week, regarding another DAP that will be being built on the platform, but I think possibly more interesting is the fact that he said that they (BlockOne) had been in discussions with projects that are currently on Ethereum, and he seemed to be saying that he expects to see quite a migration (though he did not name anyone or so so in so many words). I have been looking to see if I can find any clues as to who these projects may be and I would be interested to hear from anyone else who reads this thread who has any thoughts. I also wonder if any of the more technical minded readers had any opinions on when EOS might go from single to parallel chains and what effect that might have. Anyway cheers for the food for thought, J.

Thanks ya for checking the post. I been following EOS since August 2017. I didn't know anything about Dan Larimer before I joined steemit. Now knowing that he was the main architect of steemit and bitshares, the EOS platform is going to deliver some great projects because of the successful platforms his done. I do have some small investments in ethereum & other coins but it is kinda concerning that ethereum is going to have problems with fixing some of the issues it currently has even with the Casper and Sharding. I will keep an eye on any news and will do another post regarding EOS including news on possible new DAPS.

Next talk for Dan Larimer will be at Virginia Tech on March 1st 2018

Hey applelex, thanks for the response. Yep I am trying to get my head around the future developments over at Ethereum and how they are progressing with their work on scaling etc but to be quite honest I am finding it difficult to get information in a form that someone who is not particularly tech savvy can understand. I had noted the March the first date and put it in my calendar, but I think that we may get some more news before then.....cheers again J
