People not asking but *telling* me about Bitcoin.

Context:
Iv'e been involved with Bitcoin since 2014.: news about tech development , debates, LOTS of reddit and tinkering with nodes and wallets.
I never really kept it a secret so people in my environment know I'm into crypto.

I get approached by people about bitcoin more and more often these days and I've noticed a somewhat bothersome pattern. I can group every single person who has raised the topic of bitcoin in conversation with me into two distinct categories:

  1. People telling me what Bitcoin is, what it isn't, and what will clearly happen with Bitcoin in the end.
  2. People asking if they should invest in Bitcoin.

I've never answered the latter and I'm seriously thinking about not replying to former any more.
The worrying part of all this is that, despite it being obvious none of them has a clue what they're talking about, not a single one approached me to ask what Bitcoin is or how it worked.

Bitcoin has enough of a foothold and doesn't need to be advertised anymore. I feel like cutting stragglers loose.

DYOR.

This made me smile, although I completely understand why this can be annoying. It is also my experience that most people are most interested in telling me what it is and why it will fail, when they really have no clue what they're talking about.

Great writeup! I enjoy your writing style.
