Leading players in the bitcoin industry, including representatives of major mining-pools and software developers will gather in July for our next meeting, which will discuss the most important issues facing the community.
The exact agenda of the upcoming event is not yet announced but it is expected the participation of representatives of companies like Blockstream and HaoBTC and mining-pools AntPool and F2Pool.
Their participation in discussions was confirmed by Jihan Wu, the CEO of bitcoin company Bitmain and pool AntPool. According to him, the Chinese miners are going to play a more active role in achieving community consensus.
"The current impasse cannot last forever. You have to believe that when the industry collected such a number of smart people, they will take the right decisions," said Wu in an interview with Bloomberg.
Representatives from Blockstream any comments regarding the July meeting refrained, confining the statement that the company is not acting in the role of organizer.
In February after a long meeting in Hong Kong leading mining pools, representatives of major stock exchanges, service providers and Bitcoin Core developers issued a joint statement, proposing a timetable for implementation of the solutions for scaling the network. The proposal involves the development and recommendation of further hard forks with the increase of block size to 2Mb.
In June, the bitcoin Protocol has been implemented softpark Segregated Witness (SegWit). As said Bitcoin Core developer Eric Lombroso, SegWit is the most significant to date, improving the bitcoin Protocol. According to him, softform solves several problems of the original structure of bitcoin, but also adds a layer extension that supports higher network scalability.
