Bitcoin Wisdom #13: Deflacionary

Venezuelans have been forced to find different routes toward the preservation of their money in the face of a hiperinflation which has taken hostage the economy. Money has become worthless and as a consequence venezuelans tend to replace it with anything they can purchase and will preserve its value in the medium to long term, be it toilet paper, oil or even tobacco. A consequence of this is the appearance of black markets selling paper money in exchange for bank deposits with incredibly high fees. Due to the need of venezuelans to acces paper money so they can buy basic products it becomes a feedbackloop of money lost to the black market. Here Bitcoin plays an alternative route towards the preservation of their value. As a means of storing value, Bitcoin serves the same principles which are valued in precious metals; it has a limited amount, it has desirable properties such as durability and require an investment in effort and time in order to mine it. Being a secure and deflationary store of value, Bitcoin is proving to be of great importance for desperate people in their search for some security and freedom.
Los venezolanos estan siendo forzados a emplear diferentes rutas hacia la preservacion de su dinero y valor frente a la hiperinflacion que ha secuestrado su economia. El dinero se ha convertido en en papel sin valor y como consequencia los venezolanos tienden a reemplazarlo con cualquier producto que puedan compra y pueda preservar su valor en el medio y largo plazo, ya sea papel higienico, aceite o tabaco. Como consequencia de esto han aparecido mercados negros vendiendo dinero fisico a cambio de depositos bancarios con tarifas desorbitadas. Debido a la necesidad de los venezolanos para conseguir dinero fisico con el cual comprar productos basicos esto se convierte en un proceso que genera un loop de dinero perdido al mercado negro. Aqui Bitcoin juega una ruta nueva hacia la preservacion de su valor. Como deposito de valor, Bitcoin sirve los mismos principios que son tan valorados en los metales preciados; hay una cantidad limitada, tiene propiedades deseables como durabilidad y requieren de una inversion en tiempo y esfuerzo para minarlos. Siendo un deposito de valor seguro y deflacionario, Bitcoin esta demostrando ser de gran importancia para personas desesperadas en su busqueda de seguridad y libertad.
