2017 - A Year in Bitfilms

On the last day of 2017 let's have a look back at the films we have produced this year. All of them were made for clients from the crypto and blockchain industry.

The first film we finished was this clip for *thisApp, a decentralised exchange and wallet. This film had its premiere at the world's biggest pizza fair in Las Vegas. Its main character looks a lot like my friend Charlie Shrem. Of course I asked him before and he agreed to be a cartoon character.

It was the second film we created for *thisApp. Here is the first one we made in 2013. Having watched it you will know who are all the strange friends of Charlie who eat pizza with him. 

The next film explains the concept of Emergent Consensus, which is used by Bitcoin Unlimited, one of the suggestions how to solve the Bitcoin scaling problem. We don't take a stand in this discussion. I hope you like this film anyway, regardless whether you're big blocker, small blocker or second layer enthusiast.

In 2017 we produced eight episodes of our series Captain Drakins' Bitcoin Show. The pirate dragon and his sidekick Nick, the Parrat, explain the nuts and bolts of cryptocurrencies.

The main characters were animated by Tomek Wilk from Warsaw in 3D, all animations on the big screen were created by different artists to give each episode a unique look.

We also produced four episodes of a video show for the Internet of People with Sarah Klostermayer. This is the first episode:

2017 was the year of ICOs and every ICO needs a film to promote it. We finished two ICO films, one for Greeneum, a platform for renewable energy...

... and one for Esports.com, a community platform for game fans:

We are currently working on another film for an ICO of a mining company which will be ready in January 2018.

Our biggest project in 2017 is a series of eight episodes in four languages for the cryptocurrency Dash. We will launch it in January 2018. If you happen to be in Berlin on January 11, you are cordially invited to our launch party! We will even give away free Dash.
