Bit.AC disappears with funds.

in #bitac7 years ago

Bit.AC, London based web wallet (why?) and exchange has gone offline, the last tweets say they will be doing maintenance but the company has been dissolved as of July and some customers are saying they can see their wallets have been drained.

In crypto we all mostly understand the reasons behind having your own wallet, controlling your own private keys and holding your own funds, however I think this firm being a LTD company and based in London gave a lot of folks confidence. It was an easy to use (if expensive for transactions) wallet with multi currencies so I guess a lot of beginners or newbies used it. I certainly did, and had moved most funds out by the time it closed. I'm still down a few thousand though.

I have spoken to a few people here in the UK and on have decided to look into pursuing a claim against the director/s.

If anyone has any info, advice or was a customer who has lost funds please get in touch. Something has to be done about people in this space simply stealing money. It can't be aloud to happen with no recourse. And the only way to help for others now and in the future is to actually do something.

I am speaking to lawyers this week, and will post further on Steemit later in the week. I'm based in the UK.

If anyone knows Philipp Schnabel ask him to give me a shout. Or not. If he's left the country and bought an island he should probably stay there. And change his name. And his appearance. Otherwise we will find you Philipp!!!! :-)
