Christian Angermayer is a German billionaire with a reputation for backing some of the most attention-grabbing investments of the past decade. Known for his bold personality and high-profile connections—such as Peter Thiel, Uma Thurman, and the president of Rwanda—Angermayer is gearing up to introduce the Enhanced Games, a modern version of the Olympics that openly allows athletes to use performance-enhancing drugs under medical supervision.
The idea for the Enhanced Games came from his friend Aron D’Souza, an entrepreneur and legal strategist, who previously collaborated with Peter Thiel in the lawsuit that took down Gawker Media. When D’Souza shared his vision of revolutionizing the Olympic model by permitting doping under medical guidance, Angermayer embraced the concept with enthusiasm.
In 2018, Angermayer founded ATAI Life Sciences, a company focused on developing psychedelic treatments. The firm went public on Nasdaq in 2021 and is now conducting clinical trials on several substances, including DMT, ibogaine, and MDMA, for therapeutic purposes. Beyond his interest in psychedelics, Angermayer is a strong proponent of cryptocurrency, holding around 1,000 Bitcoins valued at roughly $58 million at the current price of $58,000 per Bitcoin. He firmly believes that Bitcoin’s value will eventually soar to $1 million per coin.
Angermayer also envisions a future where people live much longer lives, thanks to advancements in medical science. He co-founded two companies, Rejuveron in Zurich and Cambrian Bio in New York, both focused on developing FDA-approved treatments to extend human life and delay the aging process. He predicts that living to 100 years old or beyond could soon become the norm. |
