Ofo, China's Bikeshare Giant Comes To Australia With Vandal Proof Bikes
Loaded with close to a billion in venture funding, cash rich Ofo now expands to Australia choosing Adelaide as its Australian launchpad. Ofo is one of China's two biggest bikeshare operators, with plans to expand to at least 20 countries by the end of 2017.
Chinese dockless bikeshare had been in global news for creating a mess on Chinese streets. Shocking images of mountains of bike dumps have gone viral. Hit by vandalism, Ofo claims that their bikes are now vandal resistant and traffic compliant. Their Adelaide launch even includes a helmet with each bike.
