Camppal 1 person tent review
My new bike touring tent arrived today. Just ordered it last Thursday with standard shipping and bam its here all the way from China. I wasn’t sure if it would be durable coming from China but it seems very well made. Only complaint is that its a little short on head space than I expected. However it is longer so I actually fit laying down in it which is more important. I intend to use this tent for my upcoming 4218 mile cross country bike tour. More about that in another post.
The stitching seems very well done and comparable to more trusted name brands like Kelty and MSR. The fabric seems a little thicker and more sturdy than any of my other tents over the years. Everything is seam taped and extra stitching on stress points too. Haven’t tested its waterproofness yet but I think it will be just fine. It sets up pretty quickly, about 2-3 minutes tops. It is a little bit heavier than expected but it makes up for the weight by being more durable.
Of course it has only been setup once in my yard and I haven’t tested it in the rain, nor has it been used on my trips yet, so we shall see how it does on the road later. I will make another review once I have used it awhile on my next cross country bike tour.
Here are a few picks…

That's an interesting design. It looks like half a tent, but it has a nice big opening to get in and out of.
it has a large area outside the netted space for gear under the tarp.. inside the netted area is enough room to lay down. the door can be propped open like a canopy. not bad. i left it up in the rain and no leaks.
