SUMMARY OF THE REMAINING OF THE CHAPTER:

Jacob gathers many animals and sends his servants as a gift to Esau. This was an attempt to calm Esau.

In Peniel, Jacob passes on all the things that he had and lies behind. He saw a man and fought with him. He did not let the man go until he blessed him. After the man surrendered, Jacob had, as a blessing, his name changed to Israel for having won. Even with his thigh in dislocation, Jacob did not let go and won.
