THE BIBLE STORY OF NAAMAN THE LEPER

There is a story in the bible (2Kings Chap.5) of a man called Naaman. He was from a place called Syria and he was an Army commander.

Naaman had a big problem. He was suffering from a serious sickness called leprosy - in those days leprosy was incurable.

In his household, Naaman had a slave girl who worked for them. The slave girl's home was in Israel. She noticed Naman's problem and offered to help. She told them of a great prophet of God at her homeland (Israel) who could help cure naaman.

Naaman hearing the good news was excited and prepared to journey to the land of Israel to meet this prophet of God called Elisha who the slave had said could cure his sickness. And so he went.

NAAMAN GOES TO ISRAEL

On arrival at the gates of this great man of God called Elisha, he was denied entry. Naaman could not enter the gates of this prophet.

Instead the servant of Elisha the prophet came to meet him and delivered to Naaman a message from the prophet.

"The prophet says you go wash yourself several times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed"

Naaman was angry and enraged. He was a V.I.P. yet they treated him like any other person. He protested but to no avail. Eventually he accepted and reluctantly went to the river of Jordan and did as he was told. To his amazement; he was cured.

4 LESSONS FROM THIS STORY

1. Naaman's incurable problem led him to know God; challenges can make you grow.
2. God used a slave girl to help Naaman; anyone/anybody/anything can be your sent angel.
3. Naaman was denied access to the prophet; God doesn’t need any introductions he knows you.
4. Naaman was angered and enraged at the gate but because he was determined he was cured. God’s mercy and forgiveness can override your weaknesses when you don't give up.

There you go Steemian; whatever your situation is, you never know where the solution will come from. God is everywhere and even right now right here. He has ways to help you that you don't even know of. Do not lean to your own understanding. God is forgiving and he will provide an answer to your question and a solution to your problem, never give up.
