June 2 Radical Transformation
"Just as He who called you is holy so be holy in all you do; for it is written: 'Be holy, because I am holy.'" 1 Peter 1:15-16
Take a minute to realize that human beings can have a relationship with the unimaginable awesome God. Have you ever thought of it that way? The cleansing sacrifice of Jesus removes our impurity, makes us pure and the relationship with God possible. When we learn who God is, we're hit with an overwhelming obstacle: A thoroughly sinful man cannot get along with a perfectly holy God without one of them having a radical change of character. Guess who ISN'T going to change in this relationship? It must be us... To really know Him, we must become like Him. That's going to hurt as we become holy, we're going to experience painful damage to our sinful nature. God will ask you to forsake some of your natural tendencies including the sin you tolerate. Let it go! Let Him rework you even if it's painful. Be holy.
