What you can learn from drinking coffee

I've learned that unconditional love to yourself means that you can go easy on your self when you make a mistake.

That nothing is wrong with you.

That even if you said you were going to meditate today, and you didn't...

it's ok.

That whether you did what you said or not, following your own word and contract, you can still love yourself anyway.

And on the same token, that honoring our own voice, IS an act of self love! And probably the highest form.

That you are only respecting you when you do what you say, and staying with what we say, IS unconditional love.

I was about to get to work today on my computer, while I had this cup of coffee by my side.

I had heard my voice say, "i don't really want coffee right now" but for some reason i brought it over anyway...

habit? Thinking "you know better" because logically you'll need it and I'll probably want it later.

And as I sat here about to write, I thought about... how even if i did drink that coffee when i really didn't want to (breaking that contract with that inner voice rather than siding with my ego...) I'd still be ok and could love myself anyway...

And also, that by not drinking it right now, i"m respecting myself, which is the highest form of self-love anyway.

When I had that thought, my body immediately relaxed, I felt my legs again, and I remembered that I can put my little girl, that inner voice, and "Me" first within that container of the box of my shoulds, ego, and logic.

And so can you.

I learned today from reading a course of miracles on the green-blue lake outside that Spirit knows, and ego just perceives. That's why it can feel so hard to listen to ourselves, when that perception gets splintered, because that's the ego.

and when I go back and ask myself, what do i know... it's then the little girl speaks up ;-)

So trust her, and trust yourself. You'll be so happy you did.
