The DigitalNote XDN ICCO | Current Market News
What is DigitalNote?
DigitalNote was launched in May 2014 as duckNote. Later duckNote was renamed to darkNote and introduced encrypted transactions comments and encrypted messaging features. Messaging functionality provided by DigitalNote is popular in regions with high social tension and total surveillance. Following the duckNote to DarkNote rebranding, the XDN price rose by about 50%. In 2015 DarkNote has been renamed again to DigitalNote.1
DigitalNote (XDN), though not a brand new coin, is nonetheless in the midst of its initial crowd funding (IC) and coin offering (CO) phase. Hence, "ICCO." It is a 5 week long two stage process going on over at the hitbttc exchange. The idea is to buy lots of predefined amounts of XDN at a price structure which was voted upon by the community. Due to an early rise in the price, the tiers were reset from 156 to 218 satoshi to 600 to 800 satoshi. This caused some confusion about what the price actually was. According to icco.digitalnote.org, you can buy 100,000XDN with 0.6BTC.
the market price is actually lower than the current ICCO tier price
Another stumbling block to the XDN rollout was when the coin was delisted on Poloniex. Delistings by the shady Poloniex admins has led to crashes in coin prices in the past, which didn't bode well for DigitalNote. (Read their assessment of the situation here.) In short, XDN developers believe that Poloniex froze deposits, for no explicable or technical reason, as part of an insider trading / pump & dump scheme. In part, because XDN is a direct competitor to Poloniex favorite Monero (XMR). (Comparison chart on xdndigitalnote.com)
XDN is also only mined by one mining pool, MinerGate, which is the same group who brought you the Changelly coin changing service. Currently on Changelly, 1BTC gets you 470,780.28679887XDN.
Why DigitalNote?
XDN is a cryptonote blockchain that brings a lot of secure anonymous features to the game.
DigitalNote XDN developers made first ever cryptocurrency blockchain banking deposits with interest rate on proof-of-work system.1 Through using the official wallet, you can "lock" up some of your XDN, and depending on how long you lock them up for, you get a variable annual interest rate from 0.4% to 1.094%.
XDN bills itself as being "truly anonymous" p2p network, with encrypted untraceable messages, with interest earned on blockchain deposits. Future plans include "@" aliases and a mobile app.
I have to admit, it sounds pretty cool. It's not the only anonymous cryptonote coin out there, but the messaging use alone is worthy of a financially successful mobile app. And the ability to earn interest makes the XDN wallet as good or better than a normal savings account. Not only can you be your own bank, you can conduct your business and communications in an anonymous and encrypted way.
Technology such as this is really useful for anyone afraid of their government, which is a community that includes pretty much every person on the planet.
I think it's a potentially exciting technology that I hope to see gain some real traction. It is marred by a confusing ICCO that pales in comparison to tech like Bancor, IOTA and soon EOS. However, if you're worried about the leadership of Monero, and looking to invest in something within the sphere of anonymous currency (a good idea considering where the world is headed), then you might want to check out XDN DigitalNote. If you don't want to be a part of the Hitbtc ICCO, you can always find XDN listed on Bittrex.

Will continue to research this coin, however in value it's very very low and has been for the past 3 years.
Possibly there is room for development but who knows it might just rollover and remain the way it is. Like many coins out there.
Switching names we could possibly see the same happening again and again it just takes one negative like that to stop the growth of a company.
There have been a lot of coins that have switched names and developers, and it is hard to gain market confidence after doing do. But the strength is that there is a history of development to build upon, unlike new coin ICO's that have no development and just promises.
I didn't know that you could earn interest with XDN.. That makes it a very unique cryptonote coin! I will have to look into DigitalNote as a part of my portfolio.
Thanks for the info. This looks like a good coin to look into.
Great summary! I learned something new about XDN. I believe it is a good hodl
