After 214 Beyond Bitcoin Hangouts (Nearly 70 on steemit alone), I am proud to say that we are finally reaching a point where the tools for which I have for so long preached, begged and whispered in prayer at every night...are starting to blossom. Crazy to think how not giving up in the face of hard times, banding together with a motley crew of misfits with big hearts has brought us to this place. And now we can really start blossoming.
I'm proud to proclaim that whaleshares testing is progressing relatively smoothly (despite a few small hiccups along the way) and has opened up a world of possibility for me as even a mini whale to accomplish things I otherwise could only dream about prior. Because of this success, I am finally able to begin the beta for Beyond Bitcoin Whaletank. This means that we are in a place that enables me to update the old Beyond Bitcoin hangouts into something better, which in turn opens up the announcement of our flagship hangout...only upgraded.
So with this said, many of the same Rules Apply for Whaletank as those for Beyond Bitcoin Hangouts, except now we are adding some more Rules... and a little Competition to add some Spice! Not to mention a few Cheat Codes for those of you who feel like working a little harder to get a bit of an edge over other projects in your coverage!
How to get Coverage of your Project: Leverage Your Community (Use your own token to Double your chances!)
Post to this and future Hangout Announcements telling us if you are going to be there and what project/topic you would like to cover with the Beyond Bitcoin Community. The highest voted project/topics at the start of the hangout every Friday @ 3pm UTC will be covered first, followed 2nd highest, 3rd highest...etc in sequence from highest to lowest.
How much time will we have in the WhaleTank?
Hangouts will be at least 45 minutes long, but depending on attendance and projects/topics to be covered may last up to 3 hours. Given this, we will try to be as flexible with guest speakers as possible, but will be forced to limit the number covered in any hangout to 8. This should enable us to at least let people speak/take questions for 15-20 minutes each. All projects/topics that are not covered during Whaletank will be able to speak up after the 1st hour of the afterparty.
Is coverage all I get?
No. You also get a whole laundry list of cool things:
- Your RSVP reply is upvoted and paid by the community and @fuzzyvest based on their interest in your project and the voting power of their accounts.
- Every Approved Guest Speaker will Share from a pool of WhaleShare and/or Beyondbit Tokens equivalent to the amount earned by each week's RSVP post for speaking! The post earned $1000? Speakers will share 1000 WhaleShare or Beyondbit tokens!
- Every Week, fuzzy will give at least 500 WhaleShare or Beyondbit tokens to his favorite project with a token! At the end of every hangout, fuzzy will decide during the afterparty which token will earn these upvotes...during which time you might be able to try the Cheat Code below!
- Every Week it is possible to catch the attention of other whales who plan to join with whaleshares based tokens of their own! And in the future it is nearly guaranteed...
Is any topic off Limits?
Yes. We reserve the right to learn from the newest trickster trolling steemit consistently searching for way to insert chaos into the equation and devise future strategies for negating these. Naturally if these efforts become ham-fisted attempts at shutting down free speech in honest conversations, the audience will hold us accountable.
But with that said....pretty much anything can be covered--even up to and including current events. However, I personally will only be biased to projects with tokens and those that at least touch the blockchain in some way shape or form. Furthermore, I will be asking the community to downvote absolute Rubbish! ;)

@officialfuzzy - The number of people suffering in silence due to depression often take their lives because they don't have anyone to share their sorrows. I lost a friend last month to depression and hence I had started a Suicide awareness campaign to lend a ear to those depressed souls and be a reason for them getting back their life.
It is time for people to speak up and stand as an example for showcasing their spirit in tough times, such people will be rewarded with token (Whaleshares/beyondbits/ new token we create). This will create a huge platform on steemit and will be an excellant opportunity to give back something to society.

I love this idea but would definitely have to think about how a token may benefit.
Maybe people telling their own stories of dealing with the suicide of a loved one. So those who are considering it will think about those people who they leave behind who would have wanted to be there for them. :)
Or maybe rent some real help with the token ( psihological ) ?
@officialfuzzy - There are few ways we can think of, and finalize on the best way to give out tokens
We may also invite few more ideas to consider, but this is a large issue and we all go through that phase in life where we come under depression, I was under depression too when my first love was a failure.... But many of them will not be lucky enuf to get people around them when they are suffering in silence....We are creating a huge platform to voice out and address such issues which the world is facing irrespective of what country we come from. One more advantage is none of us are connected personally here, so people will feel secure to share their stories with a stranger where they dont have to be feared of being judged.
Hi @officialfuzzy I am not sure if my topic will fit into the hangout but I finished my first app that searches the steem blockchain based on an interest keyword. (http://steem-buddy.com) I think this is a helpful tool to find and connect to users on the steem blockchain and if you think it is a suitable topic than I am happy to introduce it on the hangout.

hello @officialfuzzy i have been trying to complete joining up and have a problem with accessing bitshares - as i described in my bitshares post - it says i failed to sync with API server - i have the account name and password but didn't deposit any money yet. Any help you can give would really be appreciated -many thanks--my 100%upvote boosted you from $89 to $146
Hey @daydreams4rock, I used to have a lot of problems syncing with the server, too. I watched the video, followed the directions perfectly, and it still wouldn't work. I recall getting the same error as you.
Then, I logged in on a Friday morning when I knew that the Hangout was occurring and it logged in fine and worked perfectly.
I'm glad to help you work thru it, if you'd like. Once it works, then it works great.

Hey, I'm sorry I'm slow getting back to you.
I realize I misread your question. I assumed it was for the Mumble hangout.
For the API server issue, it's been a real pain in the neck to solve. It doesn't consistently occur for me, and when it does it seems to go away without an issue.
First, do all the obvious things.
What OS are you using? Windows? If so, which version? Apple?
Let me know if any of these things get you closer.
Yesterday I couldn't get in on Chrome. Today, it's working fine on one of my computers. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
i will try some of these things tomorrow its midnight and i have to crash for a while == thanks so much for your help - no one else has and it means a lot to me - your a great new friend - yes on windows 7 on laptap
I'm on Win7 on my other computer. I'll see if it automatically syncs time or if there's a download for it.
I'll be at it in about 11 hours, so I'll send an update on it.

I don't have permissions on my computer to update my time, so I couldn't make that change.
This evening I went into my Chrome Settings, Chose "More Tools" then "Clear Browsing Data".
I cleared out all my data over the past 4 weeks (which is one of the options), as I was able to log into the exchange 4 weeks ago via Chrome.
When I went back to the website it took me right in. I had to login and I was able to fully access the exchange and my portfolio.
I hope that works for you, too, along with the other things I had mentioned.
If not, let me know. We'll figure it out.
