As a child, I did not like gooseberries fresh, because of such hairs on berries, then, I did not understand anything. But today, I know, the difference between the old and new varieties, the original is always tastier than its selection clone. Gooseberry jam, one of my favorite jams. I see that you also like the old varieties best.
At home with us, we called these gooseberries for hairy berries, and they were always our favourite.
