My Desk - Behind the Curtain Challenge
Behind the Curtain Challenge
Thank you @brisby for nominating me for the "Behind the Curtain Challenge", created by Freedomtowrite. The challenge is simple - let everyone know what lies behind our steemit work-station.
There are 3 Rules:
- Take a picture of yourself working on Steemit, or what you see while you work on Steemit.
- Tag 5 Steemians in your post.
- Use the #behindthecurtain
My Desk
What you see above is my workstation for practically anything. I will go from left to right to describe the essentials. A bottle of water is a necessity. I keep going refilling it every so often, which seems to be the most physical exercise I do. Then, there are two speakers which are extremely useful, especially since my headset broke a couple of months ago.
Scattered on the desk are separate stacks of papers. Some of them are ethics and title proposals for my thesis, and others are notes that I was studying from earlier. On one of them lies my wallet, because, I just placed it there as soon as I came home. I have two decently-sized monitors attached to my computer. Initially, they were for gaming, but I barely play video games anymore. As you see, my left screen is generally used for Discord, whereas my right screen is used for Steemit. When I am doing other things, e.g. researching, I might my word document on the right and research articles on the left. It helps with writing and paraphrasing without having to alt+tab frequently.
In front of the right monitor lies the proof copy of my book, Welcome to the Sombre Days. It is constantly there, right in front of me, and I tend to pick it up and read a random poem every now and then again. I would say it is an incredible book, but then you might say I am too biased. But, seriously, it is a great book. Anyways, I have some other things lying around, and the video camera lying between the two monitors - although I have not done a spoken word video in a couple of weeks. Writing this post makes me realise that I should be a little bit more organised.
I would like to nominate these five steemians: @angelveselinov @madevi @warpedpoetic @mistermercury @shawnamawna

My new poetry collection, Welcome to the Sombre Days, is published as paperback on Amazon and ebook on Kindle. Each day, I am sharing another poem from the book on Steemit. Here are the available parts so far:

Lovely dual monitor set-up. Good that you're keeping up with the water. I'm more of a coffee guy these days! Nice Post.
I never had coffee. Water and good sleep are much healthier than coffee ;)
What the hell is that!? Entirely too neat for a poet. I think you must have cleaned it up. Anyway, good to look into your world.
hahaha no this is how it always is. I really don't need anything else. Everything is digital. My poetry is digital. The books I read are digitalised. Usually I have my phone there too but I had to use it to take the photo. But yeah, I don't find it that neat.
Well, I'll have to post a pic of my desk soon. Perhaps tomorrow. You'll see I live midst a rummage sale. But really, get a book and toss it on the desk...maybe some tea spills or a confusion of pens and pencils. All very inspirational. Blessings.
I'm eager to see!
Hey there @poetrybyjeremy! Thank you for doing my challenge and participating! It's so much fun diving a little deeper with everyone! I hope all of your nominees accept the challenge!
Thank you for organising this. In a world were we are separated by computers and distance, it is great to connect and understand one another in our own contexts. I hope they accept too :)
Thanks for sharing your space with us! The dual monitor setup is a good idea. Who cares if you're a bit biased towards Somber Days? From what you've shared it's a great collection and something you should be very proud of!
The dual monitor is great! It saved me a lot of time many times. It can be a bit distracting at times, so I do turn off the other monitor if I need to focus.
And awhh yes! I am glad you think so. Yeah, if I weren't biased, it would be problematic or I would be a liar haha. Not that I'm totally honest all the time, but I find being honest and upfront helps.
