The crypto world can be quite overwhelming, especially for a novice trader as myself. In light of all the scams and events that have taken place it is important to do your own research on a coin before investing your money into anything. In other words don’t just listen to what any one person tells you is the next big thing, it’s probably a sure fire way to end up holding bags. I’ve compiled a list of sites that have helped me gather information on coins along the way.

  1. OnChainFX
While CoinMarketCap (CMC) is among the top go to sites for tracking all crypto coins, a better alternative I’ve come to use daily is OnChainFX. The wide range of metrics it offers is matched by few if any at all. It allows you to compare two different assets side by side, a coin’s 2050 market cap which can calculate the future value of that coin, among ROI’s (return on investments) and historic costs. The Vladimir Club Cost is another feature but I’d say it’s for a more seasoned trader.

  2. SANbase
This particular site lists many erc20 tokens which are powered through the Ethereum network. The feature I use the most so far is the Dev Activity. It’s important that a coin’s developers continuously update the GitHub and maintain a media preference as a form of reassurance to investors that a project is being worked on. This information can be viewed on this site.

  3. Social Media Platforms
As basic and as simple as it may sound, in such a technologically driven world and market social media is your best friend. Although many social media sites have banned crypto currency related ads, the crypto community is still very much alive within these platforms. Twitter, Steemit, Telegram, and Disord are among my favorite and on my list of daily visits for gathering and staying up to date on crypto news. The coins that you invest into or you have an interest in should be followed on all these media platforms.

  4. CryptoControl
Although this site isn’t updated as much as I’d like, it is a quick one-stop for gathering news on Blockchains, ICOs, government and exchanges. It has a mosaic look with posts color coated based on the aforementioned categories in which they belong to.

  5. CoinClarity
As their logos says, they are “all things digital currency.” CoinClarity (as of writing this post) has 19 pages worth of coins in which they provide a brief history of each coin, list the exchanges it is traded on, wallets the coin can be held in, among other useful information. It also provides you with a list of what seems like all wallets and all exchanges located through the tabs on the top of the page.

I hope this short list will help you get started on researching coins and bring some order to a world that can get so hectic. Of course this is a personal opinion and just my journey through the crypto world as a novice trader. If you have any other useful sites please feel free to share.
