Beer tasting - La Trappe 'Quadrupel'
I've heard a lot about this beer. And only good things. I couldn't help but do a quick Google search before I tasted it and, without revealing too much, I gleaned that it had gotten a 9.9 score (out of ten) based on over 2100 reviews.
Now for the tasting
It tastes amazing. It's sweet, has a nice texture and easily gets a great foam.
The sweetness is not as much sugary as it is fruity.
It has very faint hints of banana, which might be the isoamyl acetate formed during fermentation.
The colour is a very beautiful amber which makes it very pleasant, not only to drink, but also aesthetically.
The downside to this beer, if I should point one out, is the high alcohol percentage. At 10% it comes in at quite a high alcohol percentage. The flavour is not overpowering at all, as it is with some high percentage beers, but it stills makes it difficult to drink all 75 cl. At least if you are alone.
All this great beer, does come at a price, though. It's not a cheap beer. It costs around 40 DKK ($6.4) normally, but it's definitely worth it. It's just not an everyday beer.
If you have tasted this beer or have a comment or two, please let me know in the comments.

It's probably one of my favorite beers! But I never saw it in 75cl format. If you have the opportunity to taste it on tap, don't hesitate one second! It's even much more better!
I've never seen it on tap, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for it. Thanks for the tip!
Yeah it's not common but we see it regularly in Belgium even though the beer is from Holland.
