Spring Needs To Hurry Up

I know winter haven't started, but I'm itching already for Spring. This spring I plan to grow my apiary and possibly catch a few swarms. I will also be splitting my hive.
But this winter I think I will spend some of my time building brood boxes and building nucs. My biggest concern is getting the one hive I have to survive through winter.
Let me know if you're a beekeeper and how big is your apiary.
