Beautiful beach day! I've seen coral washed up like this in Jamaica. They say that storms can damage the reef, but usually boat activity, divers, fishing, and snorkelers play a role in that. All it takes is for it to be touched or stepped on and the pieces die off rather quickly. I bet you can find some neat little pieces in there though. Glad you had a nice day!
