A group of engineers from the Japanese company Toyota in his spare time built a humanoid robot Cue, able to accurately perform free basketball throws, writes the Verge.

To make sure of the abilities of the robot basketball player, its creators staged a small competition between him and two professional players of the club Alvark Tokyo, the results of which Cue won – he accurately fulfilled all 10 throws, while rivals made two mistakes.

It is reported that the robot learned to throw a basketball on the ring with the help of an artificial intelligence system, but, judging from the published videos, engineers used simpler solutions, because the robot simply repeats the same movements during the throw. However, even this skill Cue was enough to win over people.

Recall that recently in South Korea held a slalom competitions among robots. They were attended by eight robots created by teams from local universities and companies, and won the robot Taekwon V.

In April of last year it became known that the Japanese volleyball Association, together with experts from Zukovskogo University have developed and tested a robotic training system for players which allows players to practice attack.!
