Mariners Looking Good. Go to 3-1.
Not only are the Mariners off to a 3-1 start, but their anticipated best starting pitcher, James Paxton was roughed up in game 2 for 6 runs in a 6-5 loss. They are without their starting catcher, Mike Zunino, and Nelson Cruz, after hitting his second HR in game 2 sprained his ankle on the dugout steps after the HR. Their anticipated sketchy starting pitching has been very good with the exception of the Paxton start, and so far their new center fielder Dee Gordon, a converted gold-glove second baseman, has been generally solid, with a few minor "rookie" mistakes hiding in the shadows of a couple of spectacular plays defensively. He also had a HR in game 3, and his first 2 stolen bases in today's win. Kyle Seager, he of 0-for-April starts historically came alive with his bat today, and Mitch Hanniger looks like he may be the real thing as a hitter to go with very good defense and speed. Though the AL West is going to be very tough competition, it's spring so hope runs high for Mariners Fans.
Go M's. True to the Blue.
