Become your own bank. Start using CRYPTO

in #bank7 years ago

BTC has risen in five days from $6000 to $8760 and this thing people are calling a crash appears to be over now.

In truth it wasn't a crash at, because when you stand back and look at the bigger picture what you can see is that this marketplace continues to expand every year. And each Bitcoin 'crash' takes us to a higher value than the previous.

Do you know of any (tried & tested) cryptocurrencies which are worth less now than they were a year ago? I don't.

I have however heard of a dying banking system which charges you for the privilege of holding your money (doing whatever they want with it) whilst guaranteeing a decline in value each year.

The main currency we make here on Steemit has gone from $0.07 to $4 since I started using it and it has been 3 years since I last used a bank.

I posted the above message on Facebook as a very rare update for my old followers. I have been asked by a few of them (who clearly believe everything they read) what it feels like to lose all my money! Haha. Hopefully this message will help them understand the bigger picture.

Those of us who can see the wood from the trees & are ready to embrace this change should currently be positioning ourselves for the 2018 crypto feeding frenzy.

The thing about being our own bank is that we need to be a little more organised than we were before...

'Banking' tips to come

I am learning very quickly now that I am part of a crypto trading group and I would like to share some of what I am learning with the rest of you.

As such, I am constructing my first post now to give you my tips on security, which seems to me to be one of the most important things in this game. I believe I have created a 100% foolproof system which can NEVER be cracked... except under torture ;)

thank you for sharing and inspiring!

I joined Steemit in 2016, but let it fly over my head until just recently, when I was invited back by @kennyskitchen.

Hearing stories like his and like yours are a great inspiration to me, and this type of information is greatly valuable to us folks who are starting to take the steps to sovereignty and "becoming our own bank".

SO much appreciated and looking forward to your upcoming tips!

Beautiful family by the way :-) We have our own developing.

Great that you are a friend of @kennyskitchen. I just resteemed his Law of Attraction post earlier ;)

He looks like an awesome dude.

Life is a game and Steemit is the game changer. For so many now, it's so great to see. I was lucky to get in near the beginning, but there is no question that self sustainability can be achieved by anyone here.

Don't you realize Sam, THE SKY IS FALLING! They are doing everything possible to "talk down" crypto using the same FUD that was used against Apple years ago. They either want to destroy it or buy in cheap since they missed out.

It's not going to work.

haha! How right you are. The only weapon they have in this war is fear. And in the end the FOMO will get us all ;)

I have been buying as much Steem as I can over the last two weeks since I joined. I’m thinking of it as a savings account :) It’s not much but it’s a start! I am very conflicted about the entire state of the crypto market because while I do want to see it recover to previous highs, I feel FOMO about being able to buy steem and low prices like I am right now! Lol! My goal is to accumulate at least 1000 steem in the next 6-8 months, I’m almost 10% there! (I of course want to earn some on steemit but I realize that could take years to become successful on here ). I hope 2018 will be a huge year for Steemit!

Sounds like a perfect goal to me. Funnily enough 1000 SP is a number that I try and stick to these days. Stopped powering down today to give my account some time to rebuild the SP again. I did have 10,000 nine months ago but I have been living off it since then... though this was what gave me the freedom to learn as much as I have.

Steem is a good investment. The only way is UP :)

Let's hope so ;)

Banks as we know them, will eventually die IMHO. Good riddance. Long crypto and Steem!

Damn right Love live Crypto :)

Good post,just upvoted you

thanks for the information. and this is very useful for me.

There isn't too much info in this post The next one will have important stuff for you...

Even if a lot of people still doubt it or don't want to trust crypto currencies: This is only the beginning! I guess in a few year it will be so much more common using crypto to buy things from flight tickets to foods.
And the ones laughing at us or calling us dreamers will make big eyes when they relaize we belonged to the pioneers of this new crypto era. I guess sooner or later they'll just have to accept that crypto currencies will grow rapidly and become a very big part of our economic future.

Very good post dear @samstonehill :)

I hope you aren't too sad about losing your money HAHAHAHA :D
Oh man... As soon as the value drops even a bit, everyone is like: "I TOLD YOU SO!!! CRYPTO IS SUCH A BAD THING! YOU'LL LOSE EVERYTHING AND RUIN YOUR WHOLE LIFE!"
And in the meanwhile enjoy watching Bitcoin rise and people look like they can't believe it! :D

By the way: It's so cool you only use Steem and crypto for such a long time now! And it's simply awesome that you travel the world barefeet!
You're definately an amazing person to follow, that's for sure :)

I wish you the very best!

Just HODL and keep on being your own, decentralized bank :)
Suits perfectly well to such a freedom loving cosmopolitain, I guess :)

I wish you and your family the very best and wonderful travels :)

Thanks very much for the long message here! Wish I had more time to respond in depth :)

Your well wishing is much appreciated by my family & I.

And we wish you all the best too :)

You're so welcome dear @samstonehill :)

No problem. I totally understand and I don't expect an answer at all :)
I just wanted to give you a feedback on your amazing post :)

So thank you very much for your answer :)

Thank you so much, I appreciate that a lot, too! :)

Much love and light to you and your family <3

I heard somewhere that Mr. Gates said Banking is necessary but banks are not .

Excellent. That is actually very true. And now we have multiple banks... depending on how many currencies we are invested in ;)

It's great advice. Nowadays, BTC is the primary focus and nobody bothers about other cryptos as they seem unreliable. Steem though seems to be a reliable and has growth potential as it is backed by the blockchain platform. What about others? If I have little investment worth 200 steem or around, which crypto should I buy?

I agree the alts are massively overlooked by newcomers who think it's all about BTC. There is much to learn...
