Background of the War of Liberation
The greatest chapter of our national history is the War of Liberation War of 1971. Independent sovereign Bangladesh was born through this liberation war.
On July 18, 1947, the Indian Independence Act proposed to form Pakistan state with two major Muslim populations of India. On 12 August, the boundary between the East Bengal and the West Bengal was formally determined at the Radclippes Rd. The establishment of Pakistan was on 14 August 1947. East Bengal is part of Pakistan - East Pakistan People from the past hoped that their hopes and hopes will be fulfilled. Their expected independence will be established in the new state. Get the better life. Within a few days the people of East Pakistan felt that their expectations were not fulfilled. The rulers of Pakistan have conspired to establish pre-planned unified single culture in a multicultural society. The field of participation of the people of East Pakistan has been shrinking in the political field. In the economic field, they were victims of deprivation. Even in East Pakistan, arrangements have been made to ensure the development of West Pakistan.
Thus, the background of freedom struggle in East Pakistan was created. In 1952, the people of East Pakistan had to give life to protect their own language rights. In 1958, General Ayub Khan occupied power by issuing martial law. On 5 February 1966, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman presented a six-point demand for the establishment of autonomy for the Bangali people. With the six-point mandate in Pakistan, on 7 December 1970, the Awami League won the general elections of East Pakistan with a single majority in the general elections held in East Pakistan. He returned to the Pakistan National Assembly as the majority party. The people had hoped that by forming the elected political party Awami League government, the speed of the history of East Pakistan will change the pace of deprivation. The rulers of Pakistan - some political leaders and some military officers - plotted the conspiracy glands in such a way that the power of power was not in the hands of the Bengalis. The people of East Pakistan understood it properly.
