Your account value is estimated in US dollars. If the value of STEEM decreases, the account value decreases. If the value of STEEM increases, the account value increases.
Steem Dollars is meant to keep his value around 1$, but now is highly indervalued so it is better to keep your savings in STEEM or STEEM POWER.
