Dodge was founded by Horace Elgin Dodge and John Francis Dodge in 1900 as a supplier of spare parts to automotive companies in Detroit. The Dodge Brothers company grew and started producing cars in 1914, under the name Dodge Brothers Model 30.

The Dodge Brothers Model 30 was used by the United States army and was awarded in 1916 by the United States government as a tough and tested car when used by soldiers on the battlefields in San Miguelito, Sonora, Mexico. In the first world war, only Dodge Brothers cars were used by the United States army.
The success of Dodge Brothers was seen in 1919, the Dodge Brothers factory was able to produce 500 cars per day, but even then it was still not able to meet the existing orders. Unfortunately, this success could not continue to be enjoyed by Dodge Brothers, due to tuberculosis that hit John Dodge until he died on January 14, 1920.

Grief engulfed the Dodge family, especially his sibling Horace Dodge, where he lost colleagues, siblings and friends who had accompanied him in building the Dodge Brothers company. In December 1920, Horace Dodge ended his life due to cirrhosis that afflicted him.

The Dodge Brothers company was purchased by the automotive company Dillon, Read & Co in 1925 and later acquired by Chrysler in 1928. Chrysler continues the success of Dodge Brothers and produces the legendary car under the Dodge brand which is known throughout the world today.

Some of them are Dodge Charger & Dodge Challenger muscle cars, Dodge Viper supercars and Dodge Durango SUVs. In 1981, Dodge created a new car and segment, namely the Dodge Caravan which occupied the minivan segment. This success was followed by other world automotive companies to participate, producing a type of minivan car.
