Want a fairly healthy snack to give to the kids? Try these delicious baked apples. They are easy to make and truly delicious! We’re Adam and Joanne from inspiredtaste.net and welcome to our kitchen. Hi guys, today we’re making our baked apples. These incorporate three of my favorite things. Melted butter, apples and cinnamon. It's delicious... and smells amazing when they are baking in the oven and it's pretty easy to put together. You have to make these. So lets show you how to do it. We’ll need some melted butter later, so get that going first. Now move on to the apples. These are honey crisp apples, but any firm and sweet apple will work. Cut them in half and then remove the core — I just use a spoon. Then remove anything else you don’t want to eat — like the stem. Arrange the apple halves in a baking dish — just move them around so they fit. Grab some brown sugar as well as some cinnamon and sprinkle it over the apples. Other baking spices would work, too by the way. Ground cardamom would be excellent. We need the melted butter from earlier, flour — you could use gluten-free flour here if needed, rolled oats, brown sugar, more cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir it all together and generously top each apple. It’s sticky enough to press down onto the apples so pile it up high! Cover the apples with some foil, and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover the apples, and then slide them back into the oven until they are soft and the topping has browned — another 25 minutes or so. Serve the apples alone or go all out and top with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce! Enjoy!! Thanks for watching!
