Don't throw away your grocery bags! Store them with this grocery bag holder instead
Storing grocery bags is a tedious and annoying task. It takes a long time to figure out how to store them neatly. Most of the times I just end up stuffing them in a larger bag which doesn't really help when you want to take them out one by one. I tried a couple of times to organize them by folding however, it takes a long time and they are not that easily accessible when you just want to take one out quickly.
I was looking online to see if there is a better way to store them and I came across this quilted grocery bag holder which is easy to make and being quilted, it holds its shape really well.
The tutorial shows how to make the bag in both small and large sizes. I made one in the small size. The small size needs just 2 Fat Quarters (1 Fat Quarter = 18"x21") and batting. You also need 1 X 14" ribbon and a 1/2 yard of 1/4" elastic.
I made mine with a single print, but you can also make it with Half Square Triangles. The tutorial explains how to construct Half Square Triangles in detail.
From start to finish, it took me an hour to make this bag which is not a lot.
