Dragonfly

Yesterday, I had some time to relax in the backyard. I don't spend nearly enough time doing that as you will shortly see.

A dragonfly whizzed by and caught my eye. I thought I noticed 4 wings and jumped up to confirm this. Yup, sure enough, a rare four-winged dragonfly. I ran to get my camera and spent the next half-hour trying to get a decent picture. Finally, I got an OK picture and went to my computer to see just how rare my specimen was.

To my astonishment, a quick search on the computer confirmed to me that all dragonfly's have four wings. I was dismayed to think that I must have forgotten this. When I was a young boy I remember seeing lots of dragonfly's during the long summer days in South Dakota. It is sad to realize how much important knowledge we forget as we grow too old and too distracted to really notice the world around us.
