BWV 1008 Minuet I by J.S. Bach
This is a composition written by J.S. Bach. BWV 1008 Minuet №1 from Cello Suite №2. Originally, this part was written for Cello in D minor. I arranged it for Electric Guitar and played it in E minor. Besides the Guitar arrangement, the idea of the recording is its tempo. I've seen a lot of professional musicians playing this piece (and other parts of Bach's Cello Suites) in so-called Tempo Rubato. One of my favorite performer of Cello Suites is Mischa Maisky. He and also his teacher Mstislav Rostropovich played it in Tempo Rubato as well. I like the expressiveness of this style. However, a performer that plays in Tempo Rubato doesn't follow the precise notes values. This can cause a mess with strong and weak beats. And the order of the beats is very important in composition. It influences the sense of harmony. That's why one of the main goals of the recording was to respect the tempo and note values.
