Infant sleep
Today i want to talk about infant sleep, not as easy as it sounds,I would like to introduce you in this article how much time babies need to sleep, baby at age 0-3 m need to sleep 14-17 hours a day , at age 4-11 m need to sleep 12-15 hours a day ,
at age 1-2 year need to sleep 11-14 hours ,Sounds dreamy But the reality is quite different .
In fact, until the age of 5 months, infants still do not realize what is day and night,So it makes sense for a baby to be awake at night and sleep during the day, It does not make sense for us.
By the age of 5 months the baby does not produce a sleeping hormone Melatonin , Melatonin helps control your sleep and wake cycles,And that's why babies wake up a lot and find it hard to sleep.
Between the ages of 5 and 7 months begins to be produced the Melatonin hormone but not yet in quantities as in an adult, the hormone stabilizes and reaches levels like an adult around the age of 3-4 years . until then it is quite normal to have difficulties sleeping.
The most important advice I can bring here, if you have a baby is to take air and be very patient because it is impossible to accustom it to sleep and these wait for a time when the baby alone is sleeping better.
But I can bring some advice to help
-Breastfeeding, in breast milk, is found in melatonin, which helps control sleep and wakefulness
-Layer by sleeping windows that is also by age.
-Pay attention to signs of fatigue.
-A good shower before bedtime
-A bedtime massage, especially good for babies born in the bosomy.
Signs of fatigue include
- Yawns
- Eye rubbing
- crying
- Overactivity
- Staring
- Bright eyes
Have a sweet sleep.
