Guess What Steemians? I am Pregnant!! Part 1
My husband and I have struggled for almost 5 years with infertility. Our story, while it is our own is a common one. We actively "tried" from about year three of our relationship to have a baby. Had all the tests done, and every doctor I went to said the same thing. "Everything is normal, you shouldn't be having this problem. I don't know why you aren't getting pregnant." We call it Unexplained Infertility." Really, that's what they told me.
In 2011 I got pregnant, but the baby didn't develop past week 4. We were devastated. Having a miscarriage is one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. Miscarriages are not really talked about, and quickly forgotten about by others. How do you comfort someone who has to go through pregnancy and labor (albeit not nine months worth) but at the end, has no baby to hold in their arms? They had hopes and dreams for that baby that never came to be, and it's a heart wrenching thing to know you will never see that baby's first smile, hear their first giggle, their first words, or get to watch them grow up.
We continued to try for another 4 years before deciding to throw in the towel. It seemed to us that having a baby together just wasn't part of the plan. Then much to our surprise, in 2015 we discovered we were pregnant. In March of 2016, we had our son. He was beautiful. Blonde curly hair, big blue eyes, porcelain skin. Everyday that goes by, I am more amazed by him! After he was born, we never gave having another baby another thought. After all, it was a miracle that we even had him. And then, this happened.
That is what you think it is. It is a positive pregnancy test. When I showed it to my husband, he had a classic response. "No.No. No. No.No. Who's is that? It's not yours right?" After his initial shock, he adjusted and is happy to be adding to our family. So it looks like I'll be blogging about my pregnancy journey here with you!
Until next time Steemians, Keep Steeming ON!!
@queenpine! I'm so excited for you... kinda of getting emotional! As someone who has struggled with infertility, I know how you feel. Much love! Keep us posted. We're rootin' for you.
Thank you @karencarrens! I'm super excited too! I have found that miscarriage is very common. About 1 in 4 pregnancies will end in miscarriage. And yet no one talks about them, because they are so uncomfortable. Thank you for your kind words. I will keep posting, any prayers or good thoughts you want to send our way is deeply appreciated!
Will certainly pray for you and baby! For sure!
