The Bush family is going through an incredibly tough time as of late. Less than a week after First Lady Barbara Bush passed away the age of 92, America's 41st President is hospitalized with a blood infection.
George H.W. Bush seems to be recovering well from his hospitalization, but losing a wife of seven-plus decades has surely taken a toll on the great patriot.
At 93 years old, the World War II hero has been through so much in his life. Most of us coudn't even imagine the trials and tribulations that Bush has had to suffer through. In between that, he's lived a life to the fullest.
Here, a rare photo has just resurfaced of Bush, then the captain of Yale's baseball team, receiving an autobiography of Babe Ruth from the Bambino himself.
It truly is something to behold.
Ruth was sick at the time of the photo and passed away shortly thereafter at the age of just 53.
This one photo sums up just how the Bush family has transcended generations of America while still holding true to its place in our history.
No matter our opinion of the Bushs politics, they are the closest thing that currently resemble America's First Family. The older Bush meeting with perhaps the greatest baseball player of all time some 70-plus years ago tells us this story and a whole lot more.
