Parthenium grows without any care. It also has a special ability to survive in hostile environments. But local farmers or common people have no idea about the harmful side of this plant. This small weed is silently spreading poison even though it is noticeable. Various diseases can be caused from this poisonous plant. Even the field level agriculture officers have no idea about it.
In agricultural land, Parthenium can reduce the yield of any crop by about 40 percent. It mostly attacks mango orchards, sugarcane, banana, turmeric, bitter gourd, beans. Even if the poisonous plant touches the cattle, there is a possibility of suffering from various diseases including severe fever, indigestion. Especially cows eat Parthenium until death. Cattle eat Parthenium plants and get infected with the virus. And by eating the meat of animals infected with this virus, the human body is also infected with this virus. As a result, various diseases including asthma, bronchitis, lung cancer appear in the human body. Apart from this, the sexual power of the affected person decreases. Parthenium weed can cause minor to major disease when touched or scratched. In the initial stages, the hands and feet become itchy, red, and can lead to skin cancer on a large scale. The affected person has frequent fevers and suffers from excruciating headaches and high blood pressure.
This weed contains toxins called 'sesquiterpene lactans'. This poison is very harmful to humans and other organisms. Poisonous Parthenium is native to Mexico.
