AVIATION / GLIDING : Pre-Takeoff & Landing Checks (NZ).
Hi real pilots! Over the years I have come across many interesting checklists talking to different glider pilots.
I am going to share the one I use (mostly used in New Zealand).
PRE-TAKE OFF: "CBSIFTCBE"
C- Controls (check full and free),
B- Ballast (required and fitted OR not required),
S- Straps (tight and secure),
I- Instruments (go through all clockwise and perform radio check),
F- Flaps (set for take off OR not applicable),
T- Trim (full and free and set for take-off),
C- Canopy (closed locked and secure),
B- Brakes (open and even, closed and locked), and
E- Eventualities (safe speed near the ground, rope break and any other eventualities for that day and conditions).
Keen to know if anything anyone of you do can be added to my checks
PRE-LANDING: "SUFB"
S- Straps (tight and secure),
U- Undercarriage (down OR not applicable/fixed)
F- Flaps (set for landing OR not applicable),
B- Brakes (Check).
Keen to know if anything anyone of you do can be added to my checks :)
