Airline reviews - Singapore Airlines A380 Business class
Hey guys, today I will show you review of Singapore airlines business class on an A380 aircraft.
Route - Singapore via Frankfurt to New York
Singapore airlines operates modern fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft's. Fort this review, A380 will be the aircraft on which this business class review is based. The seat itself is wide and really comfy, probably the widest business class seat in the market. The backrest has some recline for “enjoying” that is controlled by a panel in the armrest. It also features a footrest; to fold the seat into a flatbed, you have to pull a handle at the top and pull the backrest forward which is really different to many other seats. However, cabin crew will do it instead of you so you only need to enjoy.
Although you don’t receive an amenity kit, you get a pair of socks and comfortable slippers. Toothbrush, Shaving kit and similar amenities are stored in the (clean) bathrooms. You can probably ask for eye shades or ear plugs if you want them. A380 business class is quieter than in other aircrafts. Could be because this business class is above the engines and not in front of them so this could be the reason why. The seat configuration was 1-2-1 and thus allowed every seat direct isle access.
Flying with a an airline like Singapore Airlines, expectations regarding the food service were high. First of all, you’ve the ability to “Book the cook“, i.e. choose your preferred main course beforehand online and it will be given to you on board. What came on the flight menu is a good filet steak, the Italian gnocchi were on the lower end tastewise. The Wan-Tan soup is also a recommendation. The appetizers from the regular menu were crab tatare and king prawns with mango – both have been really great. There were fresh pastries (warm!) alongside fresh cutted fruits. The deserts, ice cream and cake or a selection of cheese which was great and made-to-order besides your seat.
Before takeoff, the cabin crew offers orange juice or water. However, once in air you could choose from a wide selection of champagne, longdrinks, mocktails and (great!) coffee drinks. One thing to remember was the towel service. They distributed it so many times that people lost count of it!
Overall it was a very good experience for some exceptional service.
