5 Reasons to Fall in Love with Autumn

Today marks the official first day of my favorite season, autumn! With this magnificent season upon us, I wanted to share some of the things that makes fall so great.

The Feeling
Nothing quite compares to that sweet feeling of Autumn. As the air turns slightly cooler and the sun shifts to bring in slightly less sunshine, I am often filled with a unique sensation that is completely singular to this season.

The Colors

Autumn is a time to celebrate the beautiful colors of fall that dominate nature. The leaves become the golden, red, and orange colors that are so easily admired by a simple walk or car ride. In fall we get to experience the gorgeous mustard yellows and burnt oranges that we typically don’t see throughout the rest of the year.

The Flavors

The flavors of this season are singularly delicious. Yes we are all familiar with the beloved pumpkin spice, but there are so many more delectable treats to be had in fall. Apple picking season yields fresh apple cider, caramel apples, warm apple pie. Squashes and sweet potatoes are in season at this time, and their sweet, buttery flavor are excellent reflections of autumnal tastes. Cinnamon, cranberry, nutmeg, the list goes on and on for this flavorful season

The Fashion
Hello sweaters and boots! We sure have missed you while it’s been so hot outside. Now that the crisp current on the air is here, we can maneuver our wardrobes away from shorts and sandals and into the wonderful world of scarves, chunky knit sweaters, and cute booties.

The Activities

With harvest season and Halloween on the horizon, autumn is full of activities, both wholesome and haunting! Want to be temporarily terrified? There’s endless opportunities with haunted houses popping up all over the place. Want to spend some family time outside in the last bit of sunshine for the year? Go to a pumpkin patch and get pickin! Autumn is also the perfect time for bonfires, hayrides, and testing your navigation skills in a corn maze.

There’s so much to love about this season, so go get outside and enjoy it! Or stay inside and curl up with your warm beverage and watch a great movie! Either way, this is a season to be celebrated and enjoyed.
