What to do when buying a new car!

in #automotive7 years ago (edited)

A lot of people are fortunate enough to have the money to buy a new car. But some people don't have enough information on what to do when it comes to the buy part. Therefore sometimes rushes into it and over pay or pay more then what they wanted. So here's a few tips on how to pay less then what the dealership offers!

Step 1: look up the dealer,

When buying a new car weather it's a Nissan or Toyota or whatever kind of make it is. Search up the dealership in your area and look at the most highest rated dealer. This will help you in the long run with dealing with the company and getting the car for a cheaper price!

                                      Step 2: get in contact,

Call the dealership and tell them that you specifically want to talk to this dealer. If he/she wasn't in then ask when they will be and call in then. When you get in contact introduce yourself and give them your info before they can that'll show your not messing around and that your confident in buying this car. Also do not take the first offer he gives you, wait a little bit and do some research.

                                     Step 3: research,

Research the car and try to find the lowest price of that certain car around your area not to far one a place in driving distance at least. And when you find the lowest price that your comfortable with call the dealer and start Negotiating a price

                                    Step 4: Negotiate a price,

How to negotiate a price first call the dealer and ask whats the lowest the company will go. When the dealer returns from having you on hold he'll tell you the lowest price if its not as low as the car that you found then tell the dealer "I found a car for way cheaper in... this area" then say the price. the dealer will put on hold again. when he comes back from searching up the car and asking his employers about going that low you'll have an answer. It'll most likely be a yes we can match that price. If he comes back and says no then say okay well then thank you for your time.

                                 Step 5: buying the car,

Now assuming the dealer said yes you'll go in and do the paper work and you got a new car. but if they say now then go to a different dealer and redo the whole process.

hopefully this helped all of you please UPVOTE-FOLLOW-RESTEEM

I'll never buy a new car again.. big money pit!

Very informative article, thanks for this vital post

haggling can make all the difference. I pit two dealerships against each other for a car once, and got a decent deal.
IF you are good with tools and youtube, buying second hand can be a good investment(if you have product familiarity)

Exactly the biggest tip is patience when it comes to haggling!

followed you, man. cheers

Haggling is essential, unfortunately I am not very good at it...

well just have patience and you'll get to the final number that you want!

Patience, and better nerves!

Thanks for sharing this.
I find it so helpful.

no problem, best way in my opinion so i figured id share it with you guys!

I've done this with email, email 10 dealers in your area them what you want and the best price. After you get your best price email the other 9 dealers with that price and see if they can beat it. Get your price in writing before you go buy your car.

that's very smart as well, might need to give that one a go next time i buy a car.
