Cars I have had the pleasure of owning - A boosted Lifestyle - Man and Mechanical bond
Let's start from the beginning, I've been legally driving for 14 years now and have always had a passion for iconic Japanese cars.
My first ever car was nothing to write home about. A humble Nissan Almera. I cut my teeth on this vehicle, learning the laws of the road and earning "street cred" by modifying it. Silly when I look back.
It was 3 years later that I bit the bullet and bought myself my first ever turbocharged car. A Subaru Impreza 2000 GT Turbo or in other countries known as a WRX.
I had bad luck with this car and ended up selling it a few weeks after buying it. I then somehow convinced myself to stick with the Subaru brand and owned another 6 thereafter. Here are some of the pictures of the Subaru's I previously owned. My favorite being my 2005 WRX STI.
A classic collectors item happened to be my first ever Toyota that I owned. This was a Toyota Celica GT-Four ST185 Carlos Sainz Limited Edition. Only 5000 were ever made. Fun to drive, 2ltr turbo charged with 4 wheel drive.
In 2013 I realised that Subaru ownership was not making me happy, I had spent more money replacing gearboxes, differentials and motors then I had spent on buying the cars. I decided this was the turning point for me and I sold my Celica and my last Subaru to embark on an import journey. I imported a 1993 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR from Japan. This has always been my dream car. Since first eyeing it out in a video game I always promised myself that I would own one. My dream came true November 2013 when it arrived in Durban. Till this day I have never been so happy with a turbocharged car.
January 2016 saw the below, I needed a reliable and fast daily driver. I bought a Nissan Juke DIG-T Turbo Midnight Edition. Only 100 were ever sold in South Africa. As most have you have already realised, I love limited edition versions of cars.
I hope you all enjoyed my Boosted history. I've excluded all of my slow and boring daily driver cars from this thread for your benefit!
If anyone is interested, I vlog on a weekly basis. Most of the content is GTR related. My youtube channel is as follows
Hey Bro, nice history of your cars...I remember them all parked at our family home. All very cool, maybe not the first one. :)
Thanks Brother! The family home has been so boring without me living there anymore. Only slow old cars parked off there!
Love Japs as well. Used to have a 350Z for more than 10 years and I loved every minute of it. Too bad the Greek government assumed that I am a millionaire since I had it, and decided to tax me as such. Next stop Nissan GTR.
Ah no, Silly Government! I hope that you get a GTR one day. Amazing cars to own and drive. 350z is also an amazing piece of machinery. I had one for a week as a loan car.
Thats awesome ! But it would have been better to at least see you in some of these cars ! If your in fact the owner! Sorry bud but I could put a article together just like this as a female driver! Too easy🙃
Hi Karen,
Thanks for the input. Will do that next time.
For your piece of mind Here are some links.

Haha that is very dope!Is yours the Renault Clio V6?
nah, mine is 1.5 dci :P not boosted (yet)
Oof, lovely vehicles.
How much did you spend on gas per week?
Haha, not too much. I've always had a small daily driver. Like a Hyundai i20 or Nissan Juke. All of my faster turbocharged cars are weekenders
I love your R32! Did you have any issues obtaining the car from Japan? If so, what were the struggles you went through to import it?
