RE: Australian Bushfires - Wildlife Rescue and Care

in #australia5 years ago

Rain can also be a bad thing... there is now a danger that the ash and topsoil will be washed into waterways and kill the fish. The Murray Darling is already experiencing mass fish die off from drought and water resource abuse by corporations.

Yeah, it really is a climate emergency, but the greedy politicians who have been warned again and again just wont do anything real about it :(

It needs a comprehensive approach to address, from the govt!

Climate change can't be stopped. The planet's climate has always been changing from day one.

However, what can be done is attempt to lessen the impact, change our ways and adapt. Build our houses differently, and in places that are not immediately impacted by fluctuations in climate, ie. directly on the shoreline or river banks.

Screaming at other people to do something, changes nothing. The climate protests are an utter waste of time and energy and only further train people to give over their self-agency to others... who will always take advantage of that.

Imagine this. All of those climate protestors spending that same time and energy on land care projects. Direct action with direct results, empowering people to make change for themselves.

Why wait for politicians? Want change, make change, be the change you want.
